Default Welding Manifold Exhaust bolt "options"

Not the 928
I wanted some options, I have a broken manifold header to exhaust bolt the top off the bolt is broken off inside the header. I can barely tighten it but there is a few threads left. I know I can weld it on; but can I JB Weld it on and will it hold when I tighten it down. Has anyone successfully used a tap on an old manifold?

Is this one of the collector bolts (gasket shape of a triangle)?

Off the header pipe the exhaust goes into the manifold, 1-Bolt 1-Stud with nut no gasket, just sits in and is bolted together by a clamp. I thought of filling the threaded hole with Jb, screwing in the stud and hoping for the best.

The words you are using don't make much sense to me. It goes: Cylinder head -> Ehaust manifold -> Exhaust pipe with the catalytics -> Resonator pipes and the muffler. Where is the problem?

Do you have a pic, maybe it will be easier to understnad what the problem is.

IIRC JB weld is good to 500 deg. F. I would think that the exhaust manifold can and will exceed that. We've all seen pictures of them glowing red hot.

Exhaust pipe connected to the exhaust manifold before the cat. At the exit of the exhaust manifold is the curved pipe that connects "about two feet long"; to the cats. When you bolt the pipe to the exhaust manifold it uses one stud and one bolt. There is a collar that is movable on the pipe and when bolted holds the pipe and manifold outlet together think GM!
Seems like 500 Degrees answers my question.

So the stud is what is broken at the header to cat connection?
If so, we just knock them out and use a bolt or if it is one that has a spring you can get them in the help section of most auto parts stores.
