Default Strange O2 sensor...

so my car has had a hesitation so to try and diag the problem, i un did the O2 sensor as a good starting point.... WOW the car drives much much better now. nice and snappy on the accelerator.. how is that? should it not go in to a limp like mode or something?

No, when you unplug the O2 sensor, the car goes into open-loop mode. Most cars run on the rich side in this state which makes the car run smooth. This will also cause you to fail an emissions inspection, get worse gas mileage and the cats don't like it very much.
