And here is the final result. Sorry for the slightly blurry picture.

Cheers!

Nice touch there with the carbon fiber wrap to match your window trim.

Incredible. Been reading the whole thread for the last 3 evenings. Wow.

Did you spell out what fender liner or underside protection you are using underneath the GTS Fenders? Maybe I missed that?

Are the Fenders OEM? Are they still available? I assumed the rear fascia is OEM.

Now that looks sooo cool Carl. I've always ued the stut brace bolt to earth the charger and I hate how it scratches the srut brace paint.
Realy looking forward to the feed back onthe wiper motor.
I was reading on their blog [Mustag project] about indicator wiring but they didn't get far enough for me to see how they do it?
Does the Master Cell send an intermittant signal to the Power Cell, or do they still use a blinker unit? a blinker unit would make for interesting wiring?

Thanks, unfortunately the wrap on the window trim did not hold up in the 90+ degree heat so I had to remove it . I may have it professionally done later but for now I will keep the original trim paint. I am assuming the same might happen with the jump post cover but it is hidden under the hood, so it is of minor importance at the moment.

Cheers!

The rear fenders are Porsche originals. I think they are still available. I am using the GTS (new) rear fender liners which fully encapsulate the rear wheel well. I also use closed cell foam on the lower rear B-pillar(not inside car) and wheel housing surfaces. The rear bumper cover is also OEM. It is the GTS cover and the only one available new. The S4 covers are no longer made.

Cheers!

No blinker unit. It is all done in software code and CAN communication. When you activate the turn signal with the turn signal lever, the Mastercell "reads" via two thin 22awg wires, and sends a command via the CAN to the front power cell which activates the "turn signal personality". It is a solid state MOSFET chip that just turns on/off the requested output. That is where you get the significant reduction in wiring as you are just sending data to the location where the "event" needs to happen. All the communication is over a pair of 22awg wires. So you eliminate a lot of larger gauge wiring that is looping back and forth.

Cheers!

Most new cars use this technology but they also have a sound generator that makes the clicking sound that mechanical relays used to make when the signals are on. This is to give a feedback to the driver that the signals are on. Are you going to have anything like this?

Yes, there will be a "clicker" for the turn signals, and it will be mounted in the instrument pod to make the sound less muted than stock. For testing, I am planning on just triggering the coil of a relay to get a clicking sound, but I am trying to find a proper clicker device, which I think is a piezoelectric device.

One of the biggest annoyances for me has been getting the stock wiper motor to play with the Infinitybox system, and the short answer is, it won't! Being an older motor the wiring is somewhat complex and uses an external park function via the intermittent relay and (it seems) the wiper stalk connections themselves. The motor itself, it seems, has no internal park function at all.

As I do not want to keep all the stock wiring and intermittent relay, I needed to find a "modern" wiper motor that fit in the stock location, using the exact same mounting hole spacing...and it sure took some searching.

Finally, there seems to be a Bosch wiper motor that may (waiting on the wiring data) work as planned, and it fits. And it is used in other Porsches! Best part is, why pay over $500 for a new boat anchor motor when you can have a NEW 911/Boxster motor (1998-2011) for less than..drumroll....$130?

Now, this refers to the Infinitybox system, and the motor is currently on the way to them for analysis to see if it can be properly controlled with the minimum wiring possible. Once I get the wiring data, I will post it here as it MAY be a usable option for the standard 928. If someone wants to get creative and play with it on a stock 928, the part number is 0 390 241 389

Here are some comparison pictures of both motors mounted.

Cheers!
Carl
Carl, will this be the same for the rear wiper motor?
