No it was a conversion by someone. Nicole probably knows what companies were doing that.

I've heard the owners were delighted.

At first I seriously tought of headlight delete...
But the more I see it, but more I find it's missing something.

As much as I hate most porsche headlights, I ended up thinking the 928's has something special.

I have no idea who did this one - could have been any body shop - but I know that I don't like it. It looks like a face without eyes.

Hi,

We can't discuss the taste of some people, each one has he's own ideas, but I always tought that the retractable headlights are one of the things that separates the 928 from any other car!
Togheter with it's design, engines, transmission, interior, etc, but that's another story....

Regards

Looks like an '80s Corvette with the lights closed...

But to make it effective at night, the owner probably has 100w+ bulbs and a way to be able to run all 4 at once by rewiring the fogs to the headlight switch.

I like it. Likely illegal in many places for not meeting requirements for having headlight high enough from the ground.

Default Headlight Delete

To put it mildly, I almost got my head torn off when I asked a very similar question. I would keep the headlights where they are if I were you. Just my 2cents. T

I like the look; but in U.S. it's illegal in many states because of headlight height. I've seen several pics on here of cars with the headlights welded up nicely, but those cars were all in Europe. This one is waaaay pretty:

You can also see some other options here:

IIRC, one guy replaced the fogs/driving lights with a 1998 Chevy Tahoe combination headlight, the other with Hella driving and fog beams, both needed to fabricate custom brackets.
