Default 928 hunting for idle

Im thinking this is the idle stabilizer needing some cleaning, but my car hunts at idle. It ranges from 1100 rpm down to about 200. Sometimes its not too bad and other times I have to put it in neutral and keep the idle up otherwise it might die. Could it be anything other than the stabilizer??

If it's hunting around then that shows the ISV is being actuated by the LH ECU, but the idle loop can't find a settling point. It is a closed loop system.

As Mike syas, first check for an airleak should get about 21"Hg at the front fuel damper. (sea level)

Are emmissions OK ? If mixture is well out then loop will have a hard time to settle. I assume your car has O2 sensor ?
