Does anyone in Tampa bay have a ABS Computer for an 89 s4 I can borrow. PN 928 618 118 00. I have checked sensors and relays all seem fine.

Well at first the ABS light would illuminate after the car had driven forward 20 feet or so. Checked the fuse which is fine. I then pulled the ABS Sensors front and back all were in need of a good cleaning. Once cleaned I disconected the battery for a few minutes to clear the computer. Afterwards took it for a drive, about 5 miles into the drive the light kicks on again. Thinking it might be the relay under the passenger footboard I pulled it out to bench test. The relay worked fine 30 and 87 were open till I energized the coil and then they the ciruit closed (completed circut). Once the relay was plugged in the ABS system posted an error after the engine started and before the car moved forward, which was new it had always posted the error after it started moving. I tested the relay again figured it might be sticking put it worked fine. Placed it back in the care and it the ABS is still posting an error before the car travels forward. Not sure if this issue is related but the cruise control is no longer working.

Hmm, I had a similiar problem on the 93 GTS. Started out intermittently then all the time. The ABS light would come on as soon as I started the car but before moving forward. The cruise control and speedometer were both inop whenever it occured. In my case a new relay fixed the problem. Got it from Roger, I think it was under $100. If you can borrow the control also borrow the relay for testing. When disassembled the relay looked perfect, no burned contacts or cold solder joints.
