Default Pay it forward-fuel injectors

Okay. So I was helped out by someone with a pay it forward as I had done to someone else with a mirror.

Now it is my turn again.

I have 8 fuel injectors I just took out of my Shark. They have 118K miles on them. I replaced them because I wanted 4 hole 19# Ford injectors. Why, cause they have 4 holes. Did going from 4 holes from 1 make any difference? Not that I can tell. But I figured, why not?

So first person that PM's me that wants them, gets them. Shipping in US is free.

Overseas, sorry, I really don't want to eat that unless you can have it come parcel post and that could be a long, long time.

Do they work? Yep. Could use new O-rings and a good cleaning but they are fine.

Let me just appologize up front....I am new to the 928 and the community. When it comes to injectors...what type/brand of injectors can I put into my 82 928.

Its seems you guys know of a way to get around of having to pay the high premium of stock injectors.

Good selection for 32V, but won't fit 82.

Damnit, -2 for me on that one. No more after-rum posting for me.

We just need to search, they have different impedance and different mountings.
It might be possible to use a later fuel rail with them on an early car?
Hacker has posted guidance this subject.
I can't remember, but think the early cars will tolerate the later impedance. Or vice versa? Cant recall.

Another more practical answer: These things are pretty much bulletproof. Send them away to witchhunter for cleaning and keep driving them. I bought a surplus set for $50 and intend to have them cleaned and switch them in, but I don't think there is a reason.

That's awesome.. and no one more deserving than you for your efforts within the community.

..and talking about paying it forward, upon further review of the concept (defined in detail here), it appears that the other part of PIF is that the recipient of such does the same in kind to someone else.
This is what keeps the chain going. May I humbly suggest that this type of PIF stay within the RL community (though I don't believe it is necessary for the affect to happen)??

Here's a recent PIF experience on RL that, well, for lack of a better word - fell flat. LINK

Hard to say whether or not Smith 928 received his part as he never publicly responded. IMHO a thanks have been nice, for everyone following along at home. Would've helped to see the benefit of such a gracious act.

Also would've helped to see the recipient PIF on RL in kind.

Can you see how this could get interesting?

I understand this may not be the right method for all Rennlister and/or 928 enthusiasts. Some of you I'm sure PIF behind these scenes all the time. I know many of your personally.

But if you are willing to publicly accept a PIF on RL. I believe you can publicly give a PIF in kind. There you go...

I was going to say the same thing Jim..except maybe even keep it 928 list specific??

This could turn into a really great thread if all involved actually payed it forward ..

have fun..
