Default American Version Of Top Gear Like it ?

The American Version of Top Gear aired recently.

I thought the hosts were lacking and while a TV show felt very scripted. Being in HD was nice.
I didn't care for it, but will watch to see if it gets better until the UK version again.

I thought it was a rough start, not funny at all. I'll probably keep watching to see if it improves though. On a personal note, I did enjoy the cobras bit as that was filmed in my home town. I had no idea they had filmed there. Turns out my parents saw the cobra flying around from their back porch.

It is watered down imo. There's no cool top gear music, and no stigisms lol. At least they have a top gear test track and a studio and the power lap times. They should do the "celebrity in a reasonably priced car".

Why anyone would watch this new version when the originally BBC version is still being aired?

The best comment I heard was that it would only be interesting if they used the three guys on a segment of "Will it blend as the test subjects"

I think some new hosts will be required. I was suspect on how they would improve on the UK version.
Sometimes sequels are just no the right thing to do.

The biggest difference is the BBC version has entertaining professional media personalities (before Top Gear) that happen to be car guys, the US version seems to be professional car guys that are only personalities because they are car guys.

There is a German version of Top Gear that has magazine writers as hosts.

As a die-hard TG fan I found it unwatchable. I wanted to keep an open mind and not be a Hater but this version just doesn't work. Tanner Fost bores the hell out of me no matter what show he's on or what car he's driving.

I know Leno turned it down but he would be a perfect host for the show. He can pick a few other personalities and I'm sure it would do well. It doesn't need to be a copy of the BBC, they need to come up with their own format and tests etc.

The show needs the following hosts: Leno, Danica Patrick and myself.

It wasn't nearly as bad as the commercials made it out to be.
