Default Mystery valve help

This valve has a power and ground wire that were in bad shape so I was replacing them.

PN is partially unreadable. What I can read (sort of) is 280141001 (its Bosch). I tried a 9 in front of it but can't find it in PET or manually in a parts manual.

What does it do, what symptoms would it give you when not working and how do you check if it is working?

Thanks

I was monkeying around with mine...and when I unpluged it just to see how the car would react, it would idle as if the a/c was not working/engaged....

So right now my AC compressor assembly is removed. Can I leave this disconnected as well?

Yes, it is only to provide additional air to bump up the rpm's a bit for the load that the compresor adds.

Jim,
Roger has the parts number for the short wiring harness that goes there. I just ordered one to replace it on my 79.

I saw the PN on the wire harness but it look fairly simple, single wires. What did the harness from Roger run?

I was planning to do my own as well as I did not see anything special from a wire or connector perspective.

Thanks all.

Correct Harness $21.
I also ordered two for my own cars.
