I have one with 3 out of the four mounting holes intact.

Hi,
Does anyone have extra pair off original 6.5" speaker mounts or some custom spacer that will fit for newer 89´ models? I just have round holes in my interio and no original speaker mounts. I would like to do something like that with the original speaker mounts. http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_9...e/pic00020.jpg
If somebody have some custom spacer that will fit nicely also I am interesting to buy those.

I had the front and rear speakers from this set recently installed with a Kenwood receiver and 5 channel amplifier. Absolutely stunning sound quality - it even impressed Sean Ratts, who has seen plenty of other stereo systems in these cars. Great job, Hans!

I'm going to need speakers all around as well...I just have to make sure I have budget for any functional or maintenance items before I do this. Hopefully they'll still be around, because it seems difficult to figure out exactly what will fit from the major manufacturers.
To those of you who have installed the Earthquake "shallow subs" in the rear location...are you running them with or without an actual subwoofer? If the end game includes an actual sub, would it be better to get a less bass-heavy driver in the rear locations?

It is all a matter of personal preference, and there are certainly plenty of options. The adapters for the rear will allow installation of any low-profile driver that has an ISO 6.5" format mounting holes.
Door speakers are starting to run low though, and I doubt I will re-order. I think I have enough here to make maybe 10 more sets.

Those sets are for the components in the '85(?)+ or the older ones that go behind the perforated panel?

I don't know if there are any of these left, but let me just say...I'm glad I got mine. After correcting a wiring problem caused by my idiot installer (aka me) I have to say they sound superb. I don't even have my amp hooked up yet, just running them off the head unit amp, but they really do sound as good as they look. You'll want some sort of subwoofer action for the low end to compliment them, which is to be expected of course. Another top-notch product sourced by the 928 community. If you are lucky enough to get the last of these, you'll definitely not regret them.
