Default Another Before/After Detail on an S4....

One of the local 928 guys had seen my car at a concours and had asked me if I could help get his car looking better. Below are some before after pictures. Let me know if anyone has specific questions.

Steps Included:
Wash
Clean Rubber Trim
Clay - Needed it really bad!
Wash again
Blow Dry
Touch Up Paint
Step 1 Polish (M205)
Step 2 Polish (M105)
Full Wipe Down of all body panels and trim to remove old polish, wax etc
Apply Vinyl/Rubber Dress to all trim

I also use the m205 & m105 - great stuff!

What doe you use to "clean the rubber?"

Also what wax are you using? I use rejex and am very satisfied with it.

Thanks!

Might be a while before I make it to Texas, but maybe I can make it to a Third Coast event and combine it with a detail.

Griots Rubber Cleaner to clean all of the trim including the window seals, bumpers and tires. Spray on, gently scrub and spray off.

Parents picked that up for me when they visited Italy. They asked what I wanted....unfortunately they didn't choose my first option (599 GTB).

Love this color when it's gotten a bit of attention.

How many hours did that take you?

Would love my car to look like that, but after about 4 hours I lose interest.

Including some light interior detailing it took about 20 hours. A really high level detail can taken 30 - 40 hours.

Fabulous work Afshin. I know there are a lot of people who'd love to have you as their neighborhood "detailer".

Meguiars 205 and 105 polishes which can be used with a Dual Action Polisher.

Here are some links to to the tools I used to achieve the results:
http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...1=MEG+ULTRA+32
http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/detail/MEG+POLISH+1
http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...dom+orbital.do
http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...+polish+pad.do
http://www.detailersdomain.com/uberb...polishpad.aspx

It's a multi step process which really does take at least 20 hours to complete. Meguiars 105 is a very strong compound and care should be taken when using it, even with a dual action polisher it can easily burn through edges.

If you're going to buy these items I would suggest buying at least three sets of the cutting pads, I usually burn through two for each car I work on.

Thanks Gary

PS: I've been meaning to send you an email about the CD Holder. I'm not making any progress with it. I tried pulling it out but I'm nervous about it and I don't know how it's held together. I've looked on the sides and behind it and I still don't see anything. Maybe when one of the group is in the area they can visit and take a look?

Thanks David. It looks good but not nearly as nice as your beauty.
