Default Love my RMB. Thanks FLYVMO!

I finally got around to installing the RMB, that I bought from FLYVMO a while back, last night. I was worried that it would be too loud, or not loud enough, but it is absolutely, positively JUST RIGHT!!

The stock exhaust had a little rumble to it, but it was almost like a deep "thrum" that would resonate through the car when idling and it seemed to get quieter as the revs increased. With the RMB it sounds AMAZING!! I could stop blipping the throttle just to hear the sound resonate off buildings, cars, whatever I was passing by! It sounds like it should have from the factory IMO. Not too loud, but with a serious growl that says there are eight cylinders just waiting for the invitation to play! And when you step on the loud pedal it seems to make my smile get bigger in direct proportion to the revs!

I don't know if there is a real gain in HP (I kind of doubt that it would be much), so maybe it was just the fact that I could hear my baby better, but it sure felt like I did something other than just free up some exhaust! My car felt like she was ready to head to the track and put some other cars in their place!!

Absolutely LOVE it!

I installed mine this weekend too. Bought from a fellow Rennlister last week. It sounds awesome. I think it is perfect blend of exhaust notes. Very deep, very badass. Sounds like a different car. Love it.

Does this modification require cutting the stock muffler off the welded-on pipe/intermediate muffler and re-welding the RMB in its place?

No it's a replacement of the rear muffler. Unbolt the rear muffler and install the RMB in its place. The RMB's are made for the 86.5 & 87 thru 95 MY's. The 86.5 is a slightly different design than the other years.

Never, I'm in my more gentle phase. Should be over in a week or so.
