Default automatic trans leak in reverse only??

One thing I discovered about the Estate yesterday was the trans leaks quite fast when its in reverse? When the car is in reverse it leaves about a drop an inch..nice little trail until its put in drive and the leak stops.....well it doesn't stop but it slows down about 99%

I always see a few drops under the torque convertor & all over the tranny pan... I'm just wondering why its so much worse in reverse..

I was thinking of a torque convertor seal...but it only spins one way...so that can't be it...

Brian the leak is from the front pump seal its an O ring about 14 inches in diameter this will require the trans to be dropped put a new O ring in,
and a new radial seal ,
just wipe off the gasket dont try to remove it.
Also add some vaseline to the bronze bushing inside the radial seal where the torque converter snout runs

why does it leak so much worse in reverse? I heard the line pressures are higher in reverse?

since the trans is coming out....I might as well rebuild it? Or do the conversion to 5 spd?

a few seals are easier to replace than a trans swap,
as the cross member and TT also have to be swapped as well as the flywheel and hydraulics

true...... I do have most of the parts....just need the rear cross member....but I would need to rebuild the transmission I have too....thats pricey....

I will have to look up the parts in PET.....
