Default FS;1987 Porsche 928 S4 Auto, 143k Silver/Burgundy

1987 Porsche 928 S4 Auto, 143k Silver/Burgundy

I've decided that it's time to offer my 928 for sale, reason being that the car is not being driven as much as it should, having a full time job and running a small business on the side, is not allowing me to use the car as much as I should. I am on the road with my work truck 6 days a week. Work has to be a priority, so I hope that someone will appreciate her as much as I have. I've put together a list and some info that will hopefully answer most questions. I intent to take some new Hi-res photos by the weekend that will be available on request.

Addtional photos are in my renllist profile's albums that show the car from since I purchased it until the present...

143k- new A/C compressor,drier, both hoses
143k New Sigla(OEM) Windshield with tint and antenna

All work performed by independent Porsche specialist that maintains several local 928s or by myself.
The car is and open differential car, no 220 option, I am the 3rd owner. It has had the front end repainted.

The good: Car is a great driver and have spent a great deal of time and money in the last 3+ years to make it reliable. Car runs, drives, shifts excellent. Have around 6 hrs of Dyno time, resulted in the last dyno of 267 hp 291 tq. Should have no issues driving this car anywhere.Oil Changes with Brad Penn 20w-50 annually, garage kept , Binder of service records since 1994. Other items included with sale, if wanted. Original wheels(bad tires), Air pump assembly, Original muffler, Factory manuals CD,Solid Motor Mounts, Silicone Oil Pan gasket, Front and Rear brake pads.

The bad: Cosmetically, it's a 8 of 10 inside and out. THe clearcoat has flaked off i around the hatch window in places and the hatch should be repainted. Also the drivers door has a good ding, that would require that the lower driver door be refinished as well. THe dash has a vinyl cap fitted that has some warping around the vents. I had the lower part of the windshield tinted before it was installed to keep the sun off the dash and it helps alot. Also the passenger door seal is a torn in the top corner, no water leaks in, If you tend to these things it could be considered a solid 9 of 10 cosmetically.

****Note to buyers in emissions states, This car has no cats currently, but new ones can be refitted with little trouble.

Asking $8900 obo. I would prefer that the car go to a Renlister. Car is located in Panama City Beach, FL 32408. again more photos of the car from when I purchased it to the present are in profile's albums.

Am I missing something here? This car should go for much more than $10K.

If you're trying to move it quick, you will succeed. GLWTS

I think the price seems like a fair starting point given the mileage and condition.

Maroon interior is one of those things I think you either love or hate which may impact the sale. I'm in the "not love" camp.

GLWTS!

Not bad. I suggest removing the rear glass sticker and painting the wheels silver. The black wheels look like missing teeth. Just my opinion. Good luck with your sale.

Obviously the decal would be removed. But most likely the wheels will stay.

You guys don't know how lucky you are in the US. These prices are laughably low.

This car in same condition would cost probably double in Germany. Had it been for sale in my country, I'd already own it. 928 looks fantastic in grey (although I'd paint the wheels silver).

It's a cool blue air filter and it's new and not oiled, I should mention I have a factory air filter new in the box somewhere in the garage as well that can be included.

I probably will ask a bit more if I have to go to the trouble of selling outside rennlist. I just figure whomever buys it may have to spend $1000 on the paintwork and eventually the MM/oil pan gasket would need to be done though the car doesn't have driveability issues the Motor mounts are still original. Also there's some wetness on the oil pan bolts. but the car doesn't leak or use a any oil between changes. These things may be $2000+ , I think it's a fair price as long as the car goes to a good home. I worked to hard to get the car to this point to let it go to someone who is not an enthusiast.

Matt,

So sorry to see your selling your car. It's a shame you have put all that $ and work into it and end up selling for that price.

I know Matt and have seen the car several times, its a steal at that price. I also know Smith MotorWorks in PC and they work on several 928's as well as other P cars. Mike the owner of Smith and Matt have been friends for ever.

Well, good luck with both your sale and job.

David
