Default Hvac control conversion.

has anyone tried to replace the Vacuum operated early style climate controls to a newer none vacuum style?

78 and 79 had wacky vacuum operated door locks, but I think all models have vacuum controlled AC vents. Tubing I think is usually still good, some relay in the control board needs upgrading, some of the vacuum control pods can have diaphragms replaced, others need a new pod. MityVac pump and gauge are your friend for diagnosis.

Me thinks it will not be easy as all the controls on the early cars are vacuum actuated direct from the head unit.
