just like the title, does anyone know of anybody stroking with sleeves and then pushing the psi higher than 1 bar?
Just wonder

There was a supercharged GTS does that count The yellow "Tilo" car was also stroked and blown ....in more ways than one Problem is high compression ratio which does not do well with forced induction.

Andy - I spent a few days in the company of your car at Gregs. From what I hear, your stroker with other special accouterments will be a most formidable and reliable beast of the highest order. To me, it seems you either boost or stroke for high output, but not both on a 928 engine.

I think the main problem is that the rest of the drivetrain wouldn't support that kind of power. Assuming while you had the thing apart you dished the pistons to drop the CR slightly (since you are stroking it, after all) and then you toss in the SC, it would probably put down a silly amount of torque, which, in a 5-speed, can shear any one of the driveshaft components. Maybe you'd get away with it in an auto, but it's hard enough to keep the rear wheels planted as it is.

Ask Michael (Black28) or Ryan how much torque a naturally aspirated stroker with a 2.73 rear end and 295 (street) rubber puts down in the wet or dry- enough to break traction in 3rd or 2nd gear respectively, at which point one sort of reflexively backs off to save the tires and/or the transmission. And that's with roughly 400ish rwhp. (need to get to the dyno now that the car can breathe....) I can only imagine how much fun a stroked/supercharged 5-speed car would be, as long as you don't REALLY get into it until you're already going 70 mph, 'cause otherwise it'll be nothing but wheelspin.

Wasn't that black GTS at Frenzy 2 Stroked and S/Ced or was it just S/Ced...I can't remember. It was not running right and I am not sure that it ever did...

do a search on tilo or bigbird.
i've owned it since 2003. 6.0 liter, stock block, 8.5:1, vortech v-1, spearco air to air, 9 psi, 602 hp dyno last year.
if you want more info/pics/etc, let me know.

Tom,
is your engine sleeved or is the block at 6.0 l strong enough . sound like a really cool set up. If yours is a 5 speed have you broken any drive train components?
awesome

My experience is not with the 928, but I can tell you that when you mod the engine you have to take into account the rest of the drive line.
It is really cool the the benz trans will handle 500+ hp (so i've heard) but traction will need to be increased.
On my US Iron I used traction bars, pinion snubber and a strong gear set. After that it would break u-joints and shred tires, so I upgraded.
Then it twisted the driveshaft off (upgraded). blew planetarys in the trans, (upgraded trans).
Turned up the power, had to much traction off the line, drivers frt wheel lifted about a foot higher then the passenger side and buckled the car.
My Point ... It is all about balance. Do it right from front to rear or it is a waste of effort, time, and money.
IMHO 450 FHP should be lots for the 928 and that can be done with the stock block. IMHO
