Dual distributer belt 928 euro help
I was installing new caps and rotors on my 84 928 euro today and in the process of getting the rotors off the belt that connects the two rotors broke. I have a new belt coming in tom but am unsure how to install it so the rotors are in the correct position. Are there marks to line up? I left the front one which now spins freely without the belt in about the same position as when the rotor was on but don't want it to be off by a few belt notches and have to take it all apart again. Any input greatly appreciated.

You should also replace the washer's that go above the belt, the screws that hold down the rotors (assuming you removed them to inspect) and I would also replace the seal that goes on the distributor shaft

The washers & screws are a "one time use" part & dirt cheap.
As long as you are pulling the distributor, the rubber seal is cheap insurance against an oil leak.
I'm trying to find the WSM diagram showing orientation. In many threads / posts they are referred to as a twin dizzy.
There are little notches in the housing that line up with the nose of each rotor.

there is a procedure in the WSM for the twin dizzy includes pictures of how to take it apart and align the rotors to the hash marks on the housings its pretty easy to do.
If your belt broke you ought to order 2 of them keep one in the car for a spare

Yea thanks guys as long as i know there are marks I should be good to go. The belt actually broke getting the rotor off, was really stuck on. Upon inspection I would have been stupid not to replace it anyway cause it is beyond done.
