Valve Timing Question
 

Why is it that I see some sources say (for the 32valve) "adjust bank 1-4 to the value of 1.8mm" and "adjust bank 5-8 to the value of 2mm"

Why the difference? Wouldn't we want both banks to have the same valve timing...?!

Also, the 928 has a crank position marker, which the 16 valve 944's do not.

What if I took a cam degree wheel and attached it to the flywheel of the 16V 944 and put a mark on the engine somewhere. Could I use that just like a 928's crank position marker?

Enlighten me! Just curious about this valve timing stuff...
