Default Two tone 928

Hi all (first post), i'm looking for a 928 (and an understanding wife). I saw some rare Two Tone 928 in Germany and some in The Netherlands (that's were i live). Were these ever sold in the US? Are they "special"?

I am not aware of any from the factory that were to tone, but Nicole can chime in and confirm - she is one of the very knowledgable people on these types of details.

Here is a pic of the car i bid on at an auction in The Netherlands.

Same Two Tone, but different colours.

It's a 1989 S4

Is the lower part just paint or some sort of plastic cladding?

I doubt the factory sent out 928's with two tone paint and heaven forbid they paint the door rub strips as has been done on this car! OMG...

The contrasting rub strip is just awful...

I've never heard about a two tone version from the factory, but the Exclusive department would do all kinds of strange things... My best guess is that it's aftermarket.

OMG!!! I didn't realize it was that easy to make a 928 look like a Nissan 280Z.

Mmm.. I like the 2 tone on this car, if it weren't for the rubstrips.. Something about the euro sidemarkers does it for me. Odd, in the first pic of the passenger side it appears that the rubstrip is bodycolor. Passenger side appears accent color..

Think it,s carrying the "shark" effect a bit too far..., I seem to remember that some Mako Shark Corvettes had a similar treatment.., maybe he,s a closet Mako shark lover.?
Probably the height of bad taste though !!

Contrasting colored rub strips was actually more common that you would think. Scott Mohr had a few cars that had this color scheme.

Ohh a Nissan 240sx with a front end conversion. If that has an sr20det swap, it will make the 928 cry.
