scorching pod switch fog lamp wire
The multicolored purple wire connecting to my fog pod lamp switch must have been overheating over the years. The insulation seems as if it has been exposed to heat, which is interesting because a relay is involved. I discovered this by happenstance while pulling the pod this weekend. Anyone seen this as well? Or is it a unique issue?

its quite possible that the switch was pulled ,out of the pod with the battery still connected.
the pod is aluminum and is grounded so any part of the switch body that touches the pod will instantly fry wires sometimes the hot wire connection protrudes just enough to complete the circuit. Also its a wise idea to check the back of the CE panel after you figure out where the fog lamp wires are connected to the panel ,
any gray wires that have a satin sheen to them have also gotten hot
