Speaker Grills for the Front Tweeters
Does anyone have any extra tweeter speaker grills for the doors? Or does anyone know who sells them?
Mine are missing as well as the ring that holds them on.
I just ordered new 4" replacement speakers but I think I'm going to keep the tweeters.
It's for an 87 S4.

I also need the tweeter covers for my '85.

If you do a search here on the tweeters, it seems that the bracket rings that hold the covers on, are pretty hard find now. I have the original covers on my 85 but not the bracket rings. I had to rig a couple little clips to hold them on.

The tweeter grills are no loger made by Porsche and are very hard to find. You might have a better chance by fidning a replacement tweeter and this is not an easy task etiher.

Thats what I was afraid of.
I was reading a post where someone just replaced the bigger speaker and kept the original tweeter.
That is my plan but the grills are gone on the tweeters.
Any suggestions on where I might look?

In a previous 928 I used the Vifa D25AG non-chambered tweeters. These are pretty much a drop-in replacement for the stock tweeters as far as diameter, and the diffuser protects the dome enough that you don't need a grill. They are 6 Ohm devices, but that's not particularly important in tweeters, as they're pretty much always at least 3dB more sensitive than any woofers you're likely to use.
However, the non-chambered D25AG's are no-longer manufactured and I wasn't able to find any recently. The chambered D25AG's are also nice tweeters... nicer in fact, but they have an extra chamber on the back of them that makes them much deeper than the non-chambered versions. I think there's still room for them, though. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...umber=264-1030 IIRC, you need to drill a couple of extra holes under the area covered by the tweeter in order to pass the hook up terminals. They sound great by the way.
Something like one of these Daytons might also be a relatively easy fit: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=275-055 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=275-045
