Cyclamen or Arena Red! The dark candy red colors really look amazing on 928's.

@mike: realy like the color. Very nice. Just don't know if it is "sporty" enough for my taste - all this dark colours look very classic on the 928
@david: sure, guardsred is the alltime great color. And thats why I'm not quite sure anymore if I really want to have it.
@ryan: I adore my interior color. For my taste it's the best out there. The picture doesn't show it good enough and yes the condition is perfect.
I like your pictures of the boxster and 996 - looks a little bit like this car to me: (Is it kiln red?)

This is the faded look of kiln red. Will be repainting this spring (will get rid of the dent where wife backed into 1/4 with mini van!)

This may be 1 already mentioned, can't tell for sure, but it has always been my favorite red for a 928, so rich so deep;

Thanks guys! For the moment I decided to do a test with indischrot and zanzibar red (Thanks a lot for the tip). I'm very keen on zanzibar with a little bit more red and metallic effect. Might look great. Have to get all the materials for the prepwork on the car and the final product should be on the street 03/2011.

The most interesting red color i ever saw a Porsche in was "Marachino Cherry Metallic" on a 1988 944 Turbo. With champaign beige leather, it was quite elegant. Haven't seen one since.

Arena Red has come up a bunch. Personally there are a bunch of 993's and 996's in this shade. Its always been very boring to me. Its like a burnt burgundy to me and if you like burgundy, then go for the color Stan mentioned on the first page. Cyclam...... whatever that word is. Thats a nice color. Arena Red is a standard color and if your going to put a custom paint job on a car, then do something your not going to see on another porsche. Arena Red is quite common, and quite bland in my opinion.
If you wanna see more pics of Zanzibar then search on Ebay right now. There is a 997 painted to order in Zanzibar. An e-bay search for Zanzibar porsche should point you in the right direction. The pics are a bit tough to read though because the car was shot under artificial lighting which really does the color no favors. It really pops in sunlight.
here are a couple more pics of Zanzibar
Oh and I like the color effect you did to put Zanzibar on a 928, thats cool, I wanted to see what a 928 looks like in Zanzibar, but it is slightly darker than the way your paint shopping turned out.
