A. Bauer in Oakland knows 928's and has done PPI's for others.

EDIT: Of course one of the best 928 wrenches in the Bay area is Bill Ball. He is Alamo, CA and his opinion I would hold as very accurate. Jim Morton, another Rlister, is also another great resource to check out and work on cars.

The folks at A. Bauer are a very honest family. If you were to ask them for a ist of things that needed to be attended to they would give you a truthful answer. If still concerned, ask Bill Ball or Jim Morton to perform the ppi. Of course you need to get the car to them.

To S4ordie's point, They are honest people-and more importantly, they will have all of their records for you to review-which is a huge positive.

They'll let you get under the car (it would be worth the airfare to fly and see the car).

They were willing to quote out every extra possible thing I asked for (Fuel & Vacuum line refresh for instance). Bryan & Chris were great.

If they are willing to drive down to the San Jose area (aka Sillycon valley) you could use Marvin at the Renn Shop. I know Nicole spoke glowingly about him and also I spoke with him (my first choice for PPI but the owner didn't want to drive there).
