The WSM arrangement is a mess for the early cars.
Note the bottom of WSM section 28 page 22 --- whoever prepared the manual is making an edit that points out to proofreaders that there is a discrepancy in timing figures between Porsche publications. The column is for M28 13/14 engines, but no other chart in the vicinity seems to be more applicable.
So ultimately, you may be right, mistake. There are others in wiring diagrams and other places like some pubs saying 90deg rotation 3 times on headbolts, etc, etc.
None of this stuff is perfect. If your point is more strategic, showing us old guys that just yelled at you to use the P-docs --- that the P-docs are imperfect, we pretty much already know that (in general).
So, point taken, do you need help or what?

Not trying to show anyone up. I was confused about the timing documentation, and was wondering if there was a 28 degree mark farther down the pulley that I hadn't seen yet.
Anyhow, thanks for the help. I'm gonna stick with 23 degrees and move on to other stuff now. Like beer.

I actually think if you get hold of the right documentation you could be a resource.
Its as complete as possible for 30 year old stuff. Not perfect. Just have to scan, cross reference, triangulate and connect the dots on some stuff. The more people that are familiar with it, the better our website.
The pinup model reference is to AO and some posing and subsequent photoshop work that I'm sure you've seen, right?

I must say I'm not accustomed to docs contradicting each other, though it does happen once in a while on F/A-18's. We find the flaw and alert the division responsible for pubs, they fix it. 25 year old jets do still have doc contradictions, mostly from modifications done over the years for tech upgrades. No big deal.
I guess this one should've been easy for me to figure out, because my 82 only shows the hash mark for 23 degrees (as far as I've noticed).
But I really did want some feedback from the pros, like yourself.
Nonetheless, this old aviation-inspired supercar still piques my interest without fail.
Cheers.
