Default 16"x8" Manholes on the front?

Has anybody ever tried to run the 8' manhole style wheels on the front? I am looking into differant options to get a wider rim on the front but it seems almost everything out there will stick out further than the stock 7" ET 65 rims. I would like to know how many mm beyond the stock rims you can go before you get into fender clearance problems. Just looking at my car with the stock wheels it does not look like you can come out too much further.

Wrong offset on the regular factory slotted dish 8" to run on the front. The Club Sport wheel (it looks a little Design 90-ish) is a factory 8" front and 9" rear wheel. The D90 wheels on the GT were 7.5" front and 9" rear (I use these as my track wheels for my S4)... The Club Sports are the best, but hardest to find and most expensive.

Seagul,

I ran a set of 8"D90's at all four corners. They like the 8" manhole's ar 52mm offset, I ran them with no problem on my 1980 Euro S. The car was 20 mm below the factory minimum for ride height and they did not rub at all

On my first 928, the tire guys accidentially swapped front and rear. At the first bump, I heard a terrible screeching noise; the tire had rubbed off the paint and under body coating on one of the fender lips.

^^^^^^

Really...I didn't think they were the correct offset to do that... I stand (or sit in my case) corrected. Wait the 8" D90 was not a 928 wheel...that may have been a D90 from a 944 or a 911... The 928 D90 wheels were 7.5" and 9"... Hmmmmm...

The 16x8" S4 rear dish wheels have an offset of 52.3mm. Since there are many others that run aftermarket wheels with similar offsets, these should be no different. They will fit, but it will not be optimal and under some circumstances, could hit the fenders since they stick outward significantly more than stock.
