As of a couple hours ago I'm no longer a 928er, but I work downtown and would love to get together. The Varsity for lunch is cheap diner food, but it's an Atlanta landmark. If you want burgers, the Vortex is the ONLY place to go. Great eclectic bar, good beer and the burgers are the best. They do lunch and dinner and you want the midtown location.

Oh and while I love the Mellow Mushroom, the best pizza I've ever had is at Antico at Hemphill just off 14th. Amazing. I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Sounds good, how is the parking?

The pizza sounds great, real Mozzarella Di Buffalo and San Marzano tomato's, make a huge difference in the quality of Pizza. ( the Buffalo milk Mozzarella is hard to find here in Atlanta due to the shelf life and expense)

That may be as good as my home made Pizza, real wood fired oven.
I have to use charcoal to cook mine.

During the day would work better for me, but I am flexible as far as time.

Parking at the Vortex is a pay lot across the street, not too bad. Parking at Antico is decent - half dozen free spaces in front of the restaurant if you're lucky, and a pay lot next door (looks like a house, but it's parking). Antico's pizza is phenomenal, I highly recommend the diavolo.

I am really picky about where I park my 928, that is one of the reasons I thought of the Varsity, I can see my car when it is on the upper deck and you can park where no one can open a door on it.

Vortex parking, well it's a city pay lot. Probably more expensive cars there, personally I wouldn't have a problem with it but it is what it is. Antico should be just fine. If you get one of the spaces out front you're good, and the lot next door is visible too and has a security guy.

So what's the plan? Wednesday is best for me, either lunch or dinner would work. Tuesday evening would probably work but I can't do lunch that day. And I definitely recommend Antico.

Tuesday early evening at Antico is best for me. I can do Monday but it would have to be late because of a Dr. appt after work. I work until 3:00 so I can't do mornings or afternoons. I can usually sneak out early but the VP is in town next week so I'll be in meetings pretty much all day every day next week.

You guys don't need much prodding to spark a get together, do you!

Any of the afore mentioned establishments would be fine with me.

But, I won't know my schedule until I'm in town.

I will be in contact once I have a better handle on the job situation. (Got your PM Greg and have your numbers. I will be calling.)

Cheers,

Denny

Looks like Tue? I'm a possible for Wed...did we pick a place? Considering it's downtown, I'd think parking is priority #1..

Hey guys,

I'm in town and just got done work (8:00) and kinda beat so I'm just going to chill tonight.

I hope to have the job done by noon tomorrow but they want to take me to lunch at, get this, the Varsity. There is a slight possiblility it could take till two or three. I won't know till then.

So far I'm guessing Tuesday late afternoon / early evening should be good.

Anywhere you guys decide is fine with me.

Cheers,

Denny

6 should definately be good for me and I could be done with this job by 2 but won't know for sure until morning.

I have numbers for Greg and Mike and will call one (or both) once I have a better handle on my schedule.

Hey Mark, does that Pizza place have a dining area? Or is it standing room and carry out only?

Big dining area, community-style tables with the kitchen and ovens right in front of you. Cool place. You just kinda pile in and camp out and in about two minutes someone is yelling that your pizza is ready. So tonight at 6? I'll try to make it. Had a problem with the Lemons car that put me behind, and it has to be ready to go Thursday morning.
