Stretching the Legs
Sure is nice to get a chance to get your car out and stretch the legs at 100 mph or so for 20 min cracks. Had to run to see a customer down the road a bit. Very very light traffic today. 4 lane controlled access. What better way to spend a morning that doing what your car is designed to do? Plus you get where you need to be so much faster you can spend more time on site.
Not that I condone speeding but when the opportunity arises . . . .

100 in a 928 is totally different from a Lexus I used to have. The Lexus can easily reach 140 or something like that, but if I were actually going to drive at that speed, I would much rather be in the 928!

It's the only way to really enjoy these cars. Anything below 80 is like standing still unless you're in a tight turn.

You know, Karsten, that really is kind of cruel to tease us here in the US like that.

but we have TÜV.It´s like living in California.Every change in critical parts must be inspected and all 2 years you have a inspection.
To much rust on suspension and critical body structures and the car is toast.
Every alu wheel must be original or inspected and with the right load index fabricated for 928.
Superchargers, self build exhaust and so on is all illegal or you go for an individual inspection with very high costs and rules.
Insurance is toast if the car isn´t inspection conform.

Wowzers. We have cars there that can't even be called cars because there is so much rust. Whole body panels perforated, suspension points rusting off and wheels collapsing. I think I would like your way. Many people here in the US are driving piles of crap that shouldn't be allowed on the road because it is their "right" to drive. They can't afford to keep a car up and are endangering everyone by driving these death traps. If they are having trouble coming up with money for fuel, they can't afford to own a car.

The brakes (on a brake test bench) and all lights must be inspected.
The last time the inspector say to my 86.5 no tüv because the H4 light alignment mechanism is broken.
My shop argue with him and i got my stamp.
It´s on every old 928 broken.
Crazy Germans.

Dude, Don't go to LSD to open her up. Enforcement is and always has been very, very heavy there. Your not far from the new stretch of 355S, that's usually very open.

With exception to certain modifications which shouldn't require special inspection, they should be treated the same.
On the other hand, rules like this would completely change the collector car market. Supply would drop off dramatically.
