Default Top Gear at VIR September 16th!!

I know it may not be 928 related, but I figured I would share it whith anyone interested. You heard me correctly, I was out at the track yesterday and the announcement stated the UK Top Gear hosts and the Stig were going to be driving at the track next Thursday! I didn't believe it at first, but a quick google revealed a PCA event was moved from Thursday to Friday because of Top Gear UK. I'll try to get some more information today

Obviously they will use the Stig's American cousin, Big Stig.

Well after talking briefly to my sources today, I found out that they are going to need approximately 60 cars, preferably American. The Top Gears officials did not share the purpose of these cars to VIR yet. All track operations will still be open, but the Padox will be closed to the public unless your a VIR club member, VIP, employee, ect. All three host Jeremy, James, and Richard will be there as will the Stig and the Stig's cousin, the Big Stig. Also, all are staying at the Lodge by Turn 5. That's all I know at the moment, I'll post more if I hear anything.

I can bring a 3/4 ton 'burb, but they'd have to promise to keep it upright.

I can bring the wife's Excursion...

This sounds like a whole lot of fun. Wish I was closer!

I am one of the drivers who was lucky enough to get an invite. Not sure about the American car thing though, since me and everyone I know who got an invite is driving an import. Also they're most likely staying in a Villa overlooking the climbing esses, since that's the best rental property on the premises. Lodge is possible though, or the suites on pit road. Guess we'll find out in a few days

Very cool. Yes, all types of cars were invited, but from what I've heard the main focus will be on American cars. Also, I thought the Villas would have provided better accommodations, idk I guess we will find out for sure soon enough.
