Default Research Paper on 928 (Now with article)

Just as the title suggests I'm doing a High School research paper on the 928. For once in my school career, I'm actually able to write something that interests me! Anyway, my main focus on the paper is on the development, production and changes that occurred during the 928's life span. I have a vast amount of information including Project 928, some early magazine articles about the car, test drives, MY differences, rennlist information and many other articles. I'm trying to make this paper as informative and interesting as I can.

Since articles are hard to come by on the web, I'm asking everyone for some help. If anyone has any beneficial information, other than these listed sources, please send them to me. Since this is a research paper, I need to document where all my information came from. Preferably any other development articles or test drive articles would be great, but anything in general would be very beneficial! Fell free to post anything here or email them to me at crusherelite@hotmail.com I'll be sure to post the article once I've completed it.

Here's my earlier version without citations, currently putting the finishing touches on the final paper in anticipation of Tuesday. Any last minute suggestions would be appreciated.

IIRC, there was a pretty active WIKI effort on the 928 in the last year or two. Take a look at Wikipedia.

Jim Moorehouse's CD has the Christophorous program on it that reprints a lot of articles if that is the kind of stuff you are after.

The Brian Long book is really good.
I have one you can borrow or Nicole sells it.
Also the book which contains every Road & Track article is pretty good. Gives a good real-time driving impression.
You can borrow this too.... don't know who sells it anymore (got mine from 928 Intl)
Good luck, let me know.

Here's a link to the ASE Study of The Use of Aluminum in the Porsche 928.

Zip File

Some is a bit dry, but makes for an interesting read, though they only made two (I think) fully aluminum cars.

Good stuff. This remind me of a local Richmond Va connection - RJ Reynolds was sought by Porsche to develop the special aluminum block and other lightweight components for the 928.

There are factory photos of the production "line" here somewhere, but probably in the books too?

Christian, you could consider augmenting the paper with a classroom interactive phone conference with enthusiasts from around the globe (anderson, brown, kibort, Brett, Dwayne, long list of possibilities!)

I have a paper covering a speech made in 78 by the then Chairman of Porsche detailing why Porsche designed the 928. I need to scan it for you and anybody else who would like it.
Now where did I put it???????????

should be enough, even though there is more, but you are not going for a doctorate.

We have a WSM disk as well as the actual WSM. I don't know if it is the Jim Moorehouse CD set? If mine is not is not this set, I'll be purchasing one very soon.

As tempting as that sounds, I would rather not put you through the trouble of shipping them. If you have a scanner, sending me a few articles would be great.

That is defiantly something I could mention in the report, since aluminum played such a role in the development.

Wow great articles. I always enjoy reading articles that include the designer's intentions.
