Default Chrome paint

A few months ago I purchase this "chrome paint" off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Brigh...motiveQ5fTools

Finally today I got to use it and it looks great. The quality is not that bad although it would have looked better if I did a better job on cleaning the SC before I painted it. The instructions says that you loose about 10-15% of the shiney look once the clearcoat is applied. I will post some pictures tomorrow with clearcoat. Here are some pics without:

Gio,
Looks great. How well do you think it will hold up with the heat from the IC?

Gio,
I like it, inspirational. I too am curious how it will hold up to the heat.

Good question about the heat, I don't know. I applied the clearcoat, now its more of a bright silver than a chromey look. I'll post a picture later during the day. I may strip the paint and go with a dupont bright sparkly silver that I have in the shed, it will look better and I know the heat won't affect it.

I've used the chrome paint on small things like coolant hose clamps. It lasts quite a while too.

Gio - I've had the same problem with chrome paint--hit it with clear coat and it turns to a milky silver. Regardless, I think your SC looks great! Paint your pulleys and stuff the same... that'd be sweet!

I don't know, the heat issue worries me. I may get a high sparkle silver metallic paint and have it all redone.

Thanks Alex,

The $14.95 detail paint gun at HF does wonders, hehhe.
