Need quick help re: Torque Tube/Shaft
My helper is about to arrive to help install my rebuilt torque tube.
I have tried to contact Constantine, but no luck yet (my fault, not his).
Tube is for a 90 gt 5 speed.
How much should the shaft protrude from the tube at the tranny end?
It came to me flush at the front and out about 57 mm at the rear.
WSM says it should be 46.85-.5 mm out at the rear. However the page in the WSM was published in 1980.
Question: should I move the shaft forward in the tube 10 mm? Or install as is?

measure how far the transmission input shaft is sticking out of the transmission and use that to determine where the TT shaft should be. That's what I did and worket great.

Trans is in the car. I think I figured it out . It is as Imo000 suggests. The groove in the shaft needs be just flush with the end of the tube in order for it to align with the notch in the input shaft. And guess what, that causes the shaft to protrude about 47mm, exactly as the WSM requires.
