Have you tried e-mailing Carl at 928MS? I am sure he will be of some assistance.

I am not familiar with how his connects to the rail, I have the one from 928srus and it just needs to be tightened very snug. Mine wasn't and I was getting a small fuel mist out of the fitting, lucky I didn't have a car-be-cue!

Oh hell, just put some JB Weld on there, I'm sure that is the right thing to do.

There is a long-ish thread on fuel-pressure gauges here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ure-gauge.html

Roger started that thread with the announcement of a kit that used teflon tape for sealing, and which was followed by much discussion. Bottom line was that a lot of folks (me included) were not happy with teflon tape, sealers, etc.

Roger then went back to the drawing board around post #73 and came up with a new design, which seals using a ball-end fitting the same as the factory fuel lines. And Roger added more details in post #81, and a picture in post #86.

We have one of these new designs, it is nicely done and highly recommended.

You need to install the o-ring in the grooved end of the fitting, where it tightens up to the fuel rail.

My guess is you don't have the o-ring in there.

My guess is everyone with o-ring comments is off base. I did not get the o-ring initially. I did not install anything but called and requested the o-ring. They sent it and I waited. Then I installed with the ring in the proper location and had a leak. Disassembled, cleaned surfaces, reassembled and still leaks. Purchase o-rings of different thicknesses with no improvement. Tried the crush ring with and without o-ring; leak leak leak. Maybe my fuel rail needs resurfacing?

Since I had not received the o-ring initially the conversation with Carl’s folks started early. Their suggestion was considered but not attempted as it would have destroyed the o-ring and involved JB weld. That might be good for to try at some point but not at the first variation.

…Waiting on the corresponding part from Roger. …

So, Carl or one of his people suggested JB weld to fix your problem with a part he supplied? Now that's real customer service! I know where I'll be buying my parts from and it sure as hell won't be from Carl.

Sorry the adapter did not work for you Bob.

Been selling them with o-rings for many years without any problem.

Please return that one for a complete refund.

My first fuel guage was procured from Carl. Installed with the o-ring, fitting and guage and worked perfectly with no leaks.

Then Roger came out with his version which was essentially what 928sp used to sell with a smaller guage so that was ordered and installed...............no worries.

Fast fwd to last year when a relative local to me needed a fuel regulator to replace his leaky one I offered my used reg as well as the FG (Carls). Its was intalled on his car with the original o-ring, fitting and guage again with no worries.

Moral of my experience...............they both work just great when fitted as they should.
