Default good tail lamps...but lamp alert ?

I replaced the left tail lamp housing with a new housing that installed with new bulbs. Both the original right tail parking light and the new left parking light operate, as do all the corner lamps. The new tail lamp parking bulb is noticeably brighter and now I receive a tail lamp out alert.

Any ideas how to retire the bogus alert ?

make sure to put the same bulbs in both sides including the 3rd brake light and the side markers if you have a new housing and it came with new bulbs then you should remove the new bulbs and put in the ones that match the other side

If I understand it correctly, the car compares the left side of the car to the right side of the car as far as amps used. If it does not match, it will give you a lamp warning. If I replace a bulb on one side, I replace the corresponding one on the other side to eliminate any problems.

Side marker lamps (which you checked) and license plate lamps can also trigger the warning, but it sounds like maybe you have the wrong bulb in there. I always replace in pairs.

Not only do you need to replace in "pairs" but you need the correct bulb(s). I thought I would be smart and use a pair of "extended life" bulbs. Those bulbs triggered the warning also. Went back to a new pair of correct bulbs in each location (side markers, tail lights, turn lights, brake lights) and all was well. But, it was a mess until I did the entire set....with the correct wattage bulbs...

Yep...that turned out to be it. The body shop replaced the side market bulb on the side with the dent repair. Replacing that one with the factory bulb did the trick.
