Correction: that is a harness identifier. it identifies an individual harness section. each label identifies a harness with an individual part number in pet.

 

Harness/Loom ID - It is not a physical thing at that point - Its a tag that shows you that these wires (that cross only the black portion of this symbol) are part of Wiring Loom/Harness 4. Anything else anywhere in the wiring diagrams that is shown with the same KS 4 tag is also part of Wiring Loom 4.

On later diagrams the English notation WL # is used insead of (German) KS #.
