Tere may be parts of furthest south-southwest Texas like that. Just came from one. Got a separate bill from the rental car company for windshield chips, first time ever. I'm not sure I'd risk a good car there in such close proximity to the drug wars either. Car grabs, kidnappings, etc, way too common. A luxury limo down there is a crew-cab pickup.

I find the saga of Whitefox (Ross Chrisman) to be an extremely sad and troubling story.
I know there was lots of (understandable) resentment and animosity toward him on this list.
But I found it incredibly difficult to see a young man spiral out of control to an early death.
Some missing contributors from our area (metro Atlanta):
John Pirtle (John Pirtle) - https://rennlist.com/forums/members/...hn-pirtle.html
He sold his black 87 S4 auto daily driver back in mid-2013 after 14 years of ownership.
A super nice guy, and one of the early pioneers of Porsche 928 internet activity.
Some good news: An enthusiastic young lad in our area is now driving John's old car.
Mike McLeod (mcholdfast) - https://rennlist.com/forums/members/...choldfast.html
Still an owner, I believe, but moved back to South Carolina and has gone somewhat inactive.
But it seems to me that we are gaining new members faster than we are losing old ones.
So I think the list is as healthy as it has ever been...

And it's the unfortunate path too many addicts follow.
"For the ends are always the same. Jails, institutions and death."

Whatever happened to McVicker - his user account is still here - but no content....
That was a seriously whacked out story, baseball bats & cars shouldn't mix like that...

god, sidehatch! So many nick names for that interesting Masonesque character (there's another one for you). My favorite was sidesnatch, or just ******.

maybe they never left, we simply changed and could no longer see them. you know, a kinda time warp thing, like what happened to Kirk. now all we hear is a buzzing noise every now and again.

How about tlsmith1999? Texas guy who used to contribute periodically. He and his wife used to come to Third Coast when they lived in the Austin area. Last I heard they had moved to Greenville and I haven't seen anything since they moved.

He posted on FB earlier this week and it said "I"M FREE" I'm guessing Rose is no longer with him.
