Porsche Mechanic in North Florida

Just picked up my second 928 (the first one went away when I got my Cayenne - per the wife) and now that the wife is gone, I have picked up another 928 to join my Cayenne. Kids are happy about it, too :)

I live in a condo in St. Augustine so I've been using Brumos in Jacksonville to maintain my 2006 Cayenne (now at 80K miles). I do plan on doing minor wrenching on the 928 at either my GF's house or my parents place... Fuel Lines and Brakes sound fun! But would like to leave the TB/WP to someone that others have had good experience with.

If you know of a good independent, please let me know.

Oh yeah - stats on car -

1990 Grand Prix White, Black Leather Auto (Vin lookup says GT)
145K miles - every receipt for the first 136K miles including the complete engine rebuild at 95K miles to the tune of $20K, Torque Tube at 95K, TB at 120K, still searching for WP and Fuel lines in receipts (100-150 receipts)

Exterior of car was a 7 out of 10 Saturday (curbed wheels, paint blemishes), now an 8 out of 10 due to some extensive time with a buffer but still could use some wheel updating and window tint :)

Interior of car is probably an 8 out of 10, needs new stereo but I'm waiting to here about center console makeover

Front and Rear AC is cold, all power options working except rear hatch and finicky mirror motors.

Thankfully the guy had no idea what he was doing when listed on ebay :)

This forum helped me loads with my 87 S4 and cured the 90 GT's air flap cooling issue, already!

Pics coming soon!

I will recommend using Kennedy Motorsports in Holly Hill, (just north of Daytona Beach) probably about 45 min to 1 hour from you. Porsche only shop, and he has done work on all my 928's with good results. Ask for Ryan and tell him I sent you. 386-677-2244

Hi,

I have been using Omega Motorsports here in Jacksonville. Steve, the owner, is a great guy. Steve and one of his service techs are both former Brumos mechanics and know how to work on 928's

Omega Motor Sports Inc
2040 Saint Johns Bluff Road South
Jacksonville, FL 32246-8783
(904) 807-9091

His shop is on 9-A. Loads of great cars in the shop, Ferrari's, Labo's, Porsche, etc. everytime I was there.

I had Steve replace my steering rack, complete A/C repairs, replace coolant hoses, and a few other odds and ends on my '88 S4.

VTY,
Joe

Might give All Euro Car Care a call -- Frank is the owner. They stay busy, so you might have to leave a message -- or try calling at lunchtime. I currently have my 928S there being serviced / upgraded.

Here's a link: http://alleurocarcare.com/

Seth at Technical Dimensions is good as well. He used to service my 944 back in the day.

Seth at Technical Dimensions is good and builds killer turbo Porsches. Also he used to work on race Nobles.

Frank at All Euro is good too. He was service manager at Brumos for ages and was working on my old 944s over 20 years ago there. So he's been around an while. Nice guy.

Yes...Frank (at All Euro) was a young mechanic at Brumos in the 70's when the 928 first debuted. They gave him all the 928 cars to work on...so, over the years, he became quite the 928 guru. He recently serviced mine, and did a fantastic job. I was delighted to find a local 928 specialist.

He's a small operation, but stays very busy, so it takes him a bit longer to fully service your car...but it's worth the wait.
