Worth it? It's worth that and more just for the Aluminum alone.

It has value as aluminum only when all the ferrous metal is removed, all the head studs, inserts, etc. have to be removed or its a much lower grade of contaminated Aluminum.

I bought the engine in my avitar on evilbay for 79 bucks CAN the only catch was I had to pick it up in Quebec city thats a 12 drive from me in London Ontario can you say road trip. It ended up being an 82 auto that was converted to a 79 cis standard it actually came with the full crossmember and a good steering rack (score) I also spent another couple hundred bucks on some other stuff he had, loaded the car full actually. We then drove right back home it was a hell of a drive in the winter 24 hrs straight arrived home all safe and sound. I initially bought the motor just for parts but after an inspection and other circumstances I ended up putting it in another 928 the only really big catch that came up was the motor was an accident victim and had the alt+power steering bolt castings broke off lucky for me I can weld aluminum, it was way easier to fix than I expected. Thats prolly what you will find with that motor for $100 either that or it could be a thrust bearing failure but expect something terminal with it. if not you get a nice surprise for $100 definatly jump on it of you can I would.

Paul with the $79 evil bay motor along with all the other leftover parts all put together to make the "smorgasporsche" one of the five 928 rescues living in my garage
