+1, almost, only because I think there is an appropriate speech to make here...

Still no response from Paul.. he's either gone into hiding, or gone into the bathroom.

GBA - been following your SAVE since you started the thread on the bird site.. good stuff, great to see someone committed to actually rescuing a basket-case "project car".

I'm here

Nothing wrong with doing what you have to. The goal is making it possible to reach the next phase.

These early sport seats do tend to dry up and fall apart. But I do wonder: since these seats are full manual, why didn't you simply swap the driver's seat for the passenger, that appears to be in much better shape?

Inspiring project, again

Paul

Paul,
I tried to do that and the recline wheel was digging into the center hump. I then tried to remove the adjusting wheel but I was afraid I was going to break it trying to pry the center cap off. Any suggestions on getting the cap off? Once I get the recline adjusting wheels off I can maybe swap some things around. Sorry to include your honorable name in this tragedy but maybe I'll send them off to you some day and see if you can do better. Thanks- Gunar

No problem at all.
Drop me an email whenever you are ready to tackle the job again and I will do my best to help.

Thanks Hilton. I am having no problem finding things to clean/repair without spending much while I am unemployed. If I ever get a job I can move on to the expensive things that are now beyond my means and maybe get this beast on the road. What a joyous day that will be after all the fun work I've put into this car. We are getting quite attached.
