what is this part? oem?

Default what is this part? oem?

i am replacing my airfilter and found this in the bottom of the airbox, it doesnt appear to be an oem porsche part, it has no part number or anything on it

It is an oem part. It smooths the airflow to the barn door (afm)

it couldnt hurt to smooth/polish it up a bit right?

won't hurt, but not necessary. if you do, make sure you have any residual bits cleaned off since it comes after the filter in the intake.

Many Porsche parts do not have numbers and if the do they are often NOT the part number but subassembly numbers casting numbers etc.
