Default Air filter box strap mod

The straps on my air filter box have stretched and lost their ability to clamp the 2 halves of the air box and the filter tight, to make them clamp again I made some small brackets and pop riveted them to the air box, aluminum or thin mild steel will do, I placed a 1/8 washer on the backside of the rivet to stop it being pulled through the plastic. The outside brackets can be seen so if you’re a purist this mod maybe not for you. Took me about 40 minutes.

Nice..!
I have also see them bolted from the back (to the back of the air box) when the plastic holders break.

I suggest the next time that happens, just ditch the entire airbox, and get a supercharger. SUre it's a tad more expensive and installation take a few days, but the results are spectacular!

I don't think so. The early ones are relatively cheap. The S4 and later straps are like $50 a piece.

I think it's the other way around.

I guess I don't follow it very closely as I don't use them. Sorry if I was misinformed.
