Default What lug nuts did you use with SE Cup 4 wheels?

I went to have my wheels test fitted today at Discount Tire and the factory lug nuts do not fit. What lug nuts did you guys use for the SE Cup 4 wheels?

Anyone fit the 18x10 ET 58 wheels on the rear?

Why do they not fit? I used standard aluminum lug nuts on the front and b/c I used a smaller spacer than is standard on the GTS I had to use a steel lug nut then put a stock aluminum lug nut on top of it. You will not be able to ge a very thick socket in the lug holes of the SE C4s; you'll have to get a thin walled socket...... trust me, I know!

I wasn't watching the guys at Discount Tire....could be their socket is the problem not the actual nut...I will check again on Monday. The wheel seemed to fit onto the car without a spacer, but it was a bit close to the suspension as I calculated. I think I may get an H&R hubcentric spacer to push the wheel out a little. My front tires are being shipped so I am not able to mount until Monday.

Absolutely their socket is the problem...... Better check to see if they scratched the wheels, I scratched mine with a socket that was too large (was able to fix the scratches - can help you if they scratched yours....). You won't be able to put a very large spacer b/c of the stud vs. bolt on newer cars.

Question is; why on earth would you let Discount Tire touch your 928? Pretty sure they don't give a **** about your car or your wheels.......

Well they did a good job on my Landcruiser, so I thought I would try them again. They didn't scratch the rims thank god. I don't have any tools (torque wrench) to mount the tire myself at the moment. I just had them put the wheels on without the lug nuts to check for fitment. The kid said the lug nuts won't work when I mount the wheels on Monday, but I think he meant their socket does not fit this wheel. Their socket is on a large air tool, probably great for OEM wheels, but not aftermarket. Where did you get your thin walled socket? Surely they have one at their shop????

The spacer will probably be around 7mm. I know the H&R DRS has a 7mm for the 928. That is the one I am shooting for.

Just for fun, I pulled off one lug nut with a standard socket and test fitted it on my new wheels....and what-ya know...fits perfect.... Maybe I will get my own torque wrench and do it myself.

FWIW - If you buy new lug nuts, make sure they work with your spare tire. I found out the hard way last weekend when I had a blowout. Or, to be safe, just throw 5 of the old ones in a baggie and put them in the spare wheel well. The thread needs to be as deep as the stock lug nuts, and mine wern't. No biggie for the normal rim, but not true for the spare...

I use a set of open steel lug nuts with the Cup4's, so stud length isn't an issue. This is on the GTS with the factory 38mm spacer in the rear, so I assume that the factory nuts would work fine.
