The only other two big things for normal bolts that the M8x1.5x30 8.8 does not tell you is the head size, and the finish, the Europeans have a different head size on some than the Asians do.
go figure.

IIRC - from a european perspective non standard head sizes tend to be for abnormal thread pitches. However from an owner of an Asian cars' perspective (Hyundai) I haqve come across a couple of bolts with strange head sizes

ok I've been dying to ask this: What is the finish on the hardware for our cars. Fastener supliers do distinguish between several versions of zinc or yellow zinc:

they are:
1) zinc
2) yellow zinc
3) zinc yellow
4) zinc plated with yellow dichromate

Which one is the finish that came on the original car?

One interesting thing on the 928 is that if a bolt head isn't what you expect - for example, if it is an 11mm - that often means that you should make really sure that you want to remove it before touching it! An odd head size often means that particular bolt should not be removed.

I never noticed that, what applications do they use that on?
I know I have used a 11MM before.

That is a good thing to know about these cars.
