Default Hood switch

my hood switch near the passenger fender is missing. all that is left is the two wire connector. this controls the light, the alarm, and i think the fans. please correct me as i'm sure i don't have all the info on the switch. should i get the missing switch or just jumper the wires. unsure what happens or doesn't happen without the switch installed. thanks

If you jumper the wires, the light will be on all the time. And before you guys jump on me, this is on a '93 - so the the switch does activate the hood light.

Get a switch (new or used) wire it in properly, and be done.

I would fit a new switch.

IIRC, if the switch is opened circuited the fans will not turn off when the hood is opened if the engine is still hot.

The fans could start at any time when the engine hood is opened, a safety issue.

If you join the wires the fans will not run on when you shut the engine off when hot and you will will have the engine bay light on when the car lights are on.

I have not checked my wiring diagrams to confirm this.
