Wow, seriously short shifter there!
The digital dash is very um.. period. Did it talk? (a friend's father had a Renault 25 in about 1986 that had voice alerts for various things like seatbelt etc. - so not out of the realm of possibility for the time)

The electronics development was what killed b+b in the end, so I heard. Supposedly, they tried to become a supplier for digital automotive displays, not just use it for their own tuning. I don't remember where I read that...

Most B+B cars seem to be tuner/custom stuff, which from that time period seems to be often tasteless, or at least very dated looking. However, they did produce the CW311, which was intended to be a Mercedes Benz concept. It was designed by former Porsche designer Eberhard Schulz. I believe it used a 6.3L MB v8, a ZF transaxle and 928 brake and suspension components. It was a pretty radical design when introduced in 1978.

Mercedes liked it enough to let them put the star emblem on it, but was not interested in producing the car. After Schulz parted with B+B, he started Isdera and produced about 30 units in the mid-80's. Here's one that somebody retrofitted with MB badges.

When I was young I remember I had a Revell 1:24 (believe it was Revell, 90% sure) scale model of the BB 928 Targa.
The rainbow colours of the upholstry especially appealed to me at that time, but then again I was 9 years old or so ;-)

I am disappointed by the interior - hadn't seen any pictures in a long time. This looks more like a 70ies design with a 60ies steering wheel.

I like that crazy Merc car! Reminds me, to a certain extent anyway, of the Vector W8 (I like the W8 and I like it much more than the Merc, but the Merc does have a hint of W8 in it!)
