Default 1977 928 Article

I have been into Porsche's since I was a kid. I bought this mag when I was ten. Just cleaning out the house and found a pile of old car mags. Enjoy.

Hmmm... so maybe this article is the origin of the "variable assist power steering" debate? Note where they mention (page 3) that the power steering servo assist decreases with speed.

Great find! Thanks for posting. Good writing and lots of detail not typical of American automotive magazines of that era.

It's pretty cool finding these old articles. Reading it again I noticed that the tyre size was 225/50/17. That didn't make it to production. I wonder why?

What is the name of the magazine, and the issue? I assume it was an Austrailan publication.

Thanks for posting!

That's back before magazines had so many ads.

Ok, this has prompted me to dig out my copy of May '77 Modern Motor. I'll go scan it this evening and post up another 1977 928 article

One from the first 'S' would be good. A Euro 'S' version. I don't have one unfortunately.

It's always fun to see those early/pre-production models with the plaid seats (never seen those in an actual customer car), old style headlight washers, or other details that were changed quickly once production ramped-up. I applaud everyone who has an early 928 and keeps it original, as that must be a challenge at times.

Yep. I would also like to read a review of the EuroS. Anybody have one they can scan?

Thanks for sharing this. Makes me love my 80S a little bit more...
