with this info..."However, the PO has sanded trough the metal on the right hand side(the first pic) just by the door.." trying to rework the panel could be very frustrating depending on how thick/thin it is now. Pulling the 1/4 windows and breaking the spot welds is not that hard leaves you with a seam to weld near the roof and a small one above the tailight no need to do the rear upper sail panels above the 1/4 windows.

Belive it or not, but the dude that got me my supercheap rear muffler, also has two rear fenders off a 89 S4 for sale, relatively cheap. Now, except for the lower rear part, is there any other differences between a 79 and a S4 rear fender? Or in other words, would it fit?
