Great thread ... I put a 993 wheel in my 968 and Gary Knox put a 996 wheel in his 928, so there is a wide range of compatibility. The splines are all the same through 996, what varies is the depth of the wheel where the large nut holds it on. In mine and Gary's cases, we just machined this location down a few MMs to give the nut enough threads to grab hold of.

Splines are the same only if you want to put the wheel on an airbag 928.
As I first stated, we don't know what year the OP's car is.

I have a spare classic gray airbag wheel from my '94 GTS that is decent enough to use is your normal wheel, but I was not happy with its feel so I had Paul redo one for me... mine is available, but I am not willing to give it away! $250 takes it...you will need to use your horn actuation wire as we used the one from this wheel w/ the wheel Paul refinished, but I think they are easy to take out and install on whatever wheel you are using.
