Information stalk repair help needed!
My information/control stalk for the computer control can 'scroll' up and down plus push forwards but does nothing when I pull back.
I've telerated it so far (can't reset Average MPG, change miles/kms etc) but now that I get the brake pads sensor alert I can't reset it so time to fix stalk (and sort brake pads of course).
Is it easy to repair, assuming it the switch contact?

Burning Brakes
I thought my stock was broken , turned out to be the mounting screws were loose . so I have a new unit sitting in a box . Try seeing if the unit is loose on its mounts . Terry

So I've taken steering wheel off, removed the information stalk and then disconnected it. I got some wire to bridge connections so that pulling on stalk operated another action and proved that (annoyingly) the switch is working perfectly.
I then had the wire going from the brown live in pin 1 and tested the dash computer inputs by touching each pin (with the engine running) and the pullback pin 5 did nowt. I made sure that I was in the 'change centre display' mode (push forward) as otherwise pull back may not result in an action.
By the way:
pin 1 live/input (not sure what to call it)
pin 2 and 3 are up and down
pin 4 is the push forward
pin 5 is the pull back
pin 6 empty
So perhaps the pin 5 lead is not attatched properly to the onboard computer. Not what I want to fiddle with it but will hunt for a way to access it to test.
Worried I might damage onboard computer (£££/$$$) to fix a problem that is handy but not nessesary (can't cancel alerts/reset average mph n' mpg).
Arg!
