Driver side cam
I am in the process of wrapping up my service to address leaks and age related issues - pan gasket, mm, starter, stud kit, alt, p/s pump rebuild and lines, plugs / wires, new springs / shocks, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. As part of the round of service, I was planning to address a leak at the bottom front of the driver side cam cover. I have the seals / gaskets, but was wondering how involved pulling the cover is.
It looks like pulling the plugs / wires, removing the three way hose from the manifold, and removing the bolts will get me most of the way there. Do I also need remove the throttle linkage assembly - the depth of the plug tunnels is making think yes. How involved is this if it needs to be done? Anything else to consider?

remove the 3 bolts in the throttle assembly then slide it off to a side placed on a towel so no scratches to intake.
Get some Honda bond and put a bead into the camcover groove prior to installing the gasket.
Install new O rings for the 2 black plugs on the camcover ( where the vents come out on the right side cover) also a small dab at each junction of cam cap to the head surface so the new gasket will seal, you may also have to remove the rear lift point its a 13mm bolt done blind.
If your replacing the cam end cap seals get some loctite 574 and clean off the old sealant if you loosen the cam end caps this prevents the oil from oozing out the mating surface.
Get some Honda bond and put a bead into the camcover groove prior to installing the gasket.

If you can't find hondabond, Permatex makes a product called "the right stuff" that works very well also and is easily sourced in any of the chain auto stores. I think it's pretty much the same thing as their Ultra-black, but not 100% sure. I know the "the right stuff" works, becasue that's what I used and it has held up well.
Thanks guys. Sounds like pulling the throttle assembly is pretty straight forward. I'll see what I can source from my local NAPA and go from there. Can't wait to finally get the car back on the road again!
