Good to know. It is my understanding that the solenoid valve opens under specific conditions, e.g. at start up, but then it closes again. When it is open continuously there is vacuum on the tank all the time. Great that things are working again the way they should

Well, drove home from Greg's tonight and the tank is still fully inflated, so I think I can blame the failed tank vent solenoid valve. First one Greg has ever seen fail.

I will probably try pulling the internal pump and refitting the sender first then the pump.

Regarding the bucket lid, I think I'll pull it up to the opening and cut it up into quarters and pull it out. Left intact in there, I suspect over time it would repeatedly land on the screen of the internal pump and mess up the mesh. No point in not preventing that.

Rob, I had this problem with the lid as well. When I got it to the top of the tank I made one cut from the center to the edge and then wound it out like a spring.
